WordPress Video Tutorials

I would venture to say anyone working with WordPress has searched for WordPress Video Tutorials online to help them either understand the process of something or figure out a solution to their problem. This post in my mind is more geared towards new users using the WordPress platform in getting started. Over the years I have considered doing my own WordPress video tutorials but have failed in doing so only because it takes time and I would try to be such a perfectionist. The below videos were created by ithemes who has some outstanding products they offer the wordpress world. [Read more…]

Have you spent countless times looking for a way to create an email signature for your small business, hobby, or non profit? SigBuzz is innovation at it's finest!

Branding is an important topic to consider. All to often we spend time on the outwardly things like website, letter heads, business cards, and advertisement but sometimes we forget that our email signature sees a lot of daily action. Let's say you're a small business owner and each of your employees have different email signatures. No big deal right? Probably not except sometimes that is the first impression you have with a new client or vendor. It's your basic calling card so you have to use it as the tool it provides for branding. [Read more…]

Results From Man Of The Year Award

April 30, 2011 By Michael G. Stults Leave a Comment

The day had finally arrived and although I was excited I was some what nervous. All it took was someone willing to drop their check book off at the voting table to “pull the votes” during the event. Either way I was runner up for Man of the Year Award here in Kansas City. I won't tell you different…I was extremely disappointed and that says it LIGHTLY!

Dodging For A Cause | Type 1 Diabetes

April 18, 2011 By Michael G. Stults Leave a Comment

I had the pleasure of warming up the ol' cannon to benefit Type 1 Diabetes or better known as Juvenile Diabetes for Emmy's Crew on April 16th. Prospective Software of Shawnee Mission, KS has a regulation size dodge ball court in their basement where the event is held. It was the 6th annual Dodge For A Cause that is held to raise awareness and invaluable dollars to go towards tackling this monster that roughly affects 25+ million Americans. Let's say the 5 minute games feel more like 50 minutes. Who needs Jazzercise when you can sweat it out playing dodge ball?

Man Of The Year Contest | Please Vote For Me

April 15, 2011 By Michael G. Stults 4 Comments

When you think of “Man of the Year” you tend to think of someone great and very popular amongst society. What if that “Man of the Year” was someone that wasn’t particularly popular in the sense of a national celebrity? I was nominated as “Man of the Year’ recently and I was very humbled yet I saw it as an opportunity to spread awareness about Niemann-Pick Type C.

Vote for Michael Stults!

How to fix RSS feed not formating correctly in Google Chrome Browser

February 19, 2011 By Michael G. Stults 5 Comments

Having a problem with your RSS feeds not showing up in your Google Chrome browser? Do you see a whole bunch of garbled text when you click on the RSS feed button? Well I know exactly how you feel and came across a relatively pain free easy fix. I decided to do a simple Google search for “Chrome RSS Feed Extension” to find that I wasn't alone on this. Who would have thought that Google Chrome wouldn't have had this feature auto built in? Pfft.

I would provide you a quick snapshot of my screen but I'd already fixed the issue before this post. Here is an example of garbled text.

I put together a quick how to video to fix this issue by installing the RSS Subscription Extension (by Google). Once installed you should see a RSS feed button apart of your address bar if that site has a RSS feed associated with it. Now when you click on the RSS feed button on that website to view the contents you should see a nicely formated screen of all recent posts. Kaboom and your on your way of not trying to read ancient writing while surfing for good content to add to your RSS Feeder.

update to Chrome RSS Reader

Stop Marketing Like It’s 1950

January 21, 2011 By Michael G. Stults 1 Comment

Recently I've had a few discussions with a couple of my friends about marketing themselves as a brand. They each are in direct sales and the image of their product isn't the company they represent but their face. People do business with other people mostly for one reason…that is they like and trust you.

Could you imagine working for a company for 20 years and all you've done is pour your heart into it all? Everyday, every month, every year to become the best at your job. One day you wake up and there is a company merger only to find they have eliminated your positions. As time goes on the clients you happily involved at your last company would like to contact you but your old mobile phone, email, and etc doesn't work.

Attention Jim Kukral This Is Your Book Review

December 11, 2010 By Michael G. Stults 2 Comments

Attention Jim Kukral, this is your book review! Today I wanted to give my very first video book review. That honor will go to Jim Kukral and his book “Attention! This book will make you money“.

When I read a statement so bold as that I tend to shy away because most books claiming to make you lots of money are usually crap. Jim is absolutely correct in his bold statement because he is a well respected individual in the online/internet marketing industry. He is sought after tospeak at various engagments but more important consult with business owners possibly like yourself.

It Really Isn’t Health Care Reform

November 6, 2010 By Michael G. Stults Leave a Comment

Recently I've had the opportunity to learn a lot about how the new Health Care reform will affect my family's situation. Unfortunately, there is still more to learn and that will require going through the motions to gain that unwanted experience. Before I share more you need to know more about our story.

In May of 2008 my oldest son Brisan was 3.5 years old. Parker was 2 and Duncan was barely approaching six months of age.  As long as we could remember Brisan always had a runny nose with sinus problems along with a learning disability, enlarge liver and spleen. We were having surgery that month to remove his tonsils and adenoids and felt by electing to do this surgery that this could provide some relief for him. Now keep in mind, he had far bigger issues brewing but at that given time they had diagnosed him with several things that didn't quite seem to fit him to a tee. Something wasn't right. The diagnoses wasn't “fitting”. [Read more…]

Twitter Is A Funny Creature. 3 Things To Get Started

November 2, 2010 By Michael G. Stults 1 Comment

Twitter twitter twitter… what in the world is this thing? It's funny sounding and for the more detailed people out there it has been challenging their written communication skills by only allowing 140 characters per post. Geez. Well I'm here to share some of my experience of using Twitter with you and also to give 3 out of a million things that you could do to get started.

Less than 2 years ago I started my Twitter account @MGStults and my thought with my Twitter handle was ” I didn't want anyone to know my name”. Yes your laughter is so loud I can hear it all the way through the internet connection. Very silly wouldn't you agree?  If your online you are absolutely giving up some of your privacy. You probably have Facebook don't you? [Read more…]
