I had the pleasure of warming up the ol' cannon to benefit Type 1 Diabetes or better known as Juvenile Diabetes for Emmy's Crew on April 16th. Prospective Software of Shawnee Mission, KS has a regulation size dodge ball court in their basement where the event is held. It was the 6th annual Dodge For A Cause that is held to raise awareness and invaluable dollars to go towards tackling this monster that roughly affects 25+ million Americans. Let's say the 5 minute games feel more like 50 minutes. Who needs Jazzercise when you can sweat it out playing dodge ball?
Our good friends Dwight and Cristen Williams have a cute little brown eye'd girl (please don't attempt to sing the song…) who on November 26, 2008 was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. For them there have been many late nights because it is a disease that requires consent attention and doesn't take a vacation. Her name is Emily Williams or best known as “Emmy”. Her favorite song she likes to rock out to is Miley Cryus's “Party in the USA”. I just recall her waiving her hands in the air like she just don't care except to Miley's song that is…

There were over 40+ teams that signed up to participate. Unfortunately we went 1-6. You could say we have some practice to attend to before next year. Overall it was a heck of a time and I was glad that I was able to participate.
