June 17, 2010 By Michael G. Stults 1 Comment

Drum roll please! Lights, camera, action! Introducing the new WordPress 3.0 “Thelonious” to a download button near you! Exciting news released on WordPress's blog today about this 13th release of their platform.

WordPress was inspired with this recent upgrade by Thelonious Monk (October 10, 1917 – February 17, 1982) who was an American jazz pianist and composer. Amongst society, “one of the giants of American music”.  He was a very stylish man who dressed to impress along with a one time feature on the front cover of Time Magazine.

The first thing you'll notice is a lighter back end management piece. The new default blog template or theme is called Twenty Ten. Say goodbye to ol' blue I like to call it! This default theme supports all the bells and whistles they are throwing out with WordPress 3.0. Some important features are the upgrades to customize your backgrounds, shortlinks, headers, post types, menus, and taxonomies. Plus you can now run multiple blogs on just one installation verse having to run a new installation for each blog site you set up. Now that right there is beautiful! [Read more…]

I've outsourced my construction workers to complete my site. The labor was cheaper outside the US. Hopefully your job wasn't lost to one of these maneuvers. JK

Awareness of Niemann-Pick Type C

May 26, 2010 By Michael G. Stults Leave a Comment

As a society we are familiar with some of the other common diseases but sometimes a name says it all, “Niemann-Pick  Disease Type C” and just leaves you wondering.

Brisan and Parker Stults our my two eldest son's who's prognosis captures the meaning of Niemann-Pick Type C Disease (NPC). It's a genetic neurological disease that strikes children through accumulation of cholesterol and other excess fats in the cells of the liver, spleen, and brain. When brain cell function is blocked, the child loses coordination, stumbles, falls, and eventually will need a wheelchair, hospital bed, and other adaptive equipment. As the disease worsens, other devastating symptoms develop, including loss of the ability to speak and swallow, and seizures may occur. The health of children with NPC declines until ultimately, the disease claims his or her life. This disease affects roughly 75 people in the US and around 500 worldwide (ever).

Today, there is no cure or effective treatment for Niemann-Pick, but research is making progress. Tomorrow through research made possible by the financial support of generous contributors, these precious children can be saved! But they need your help now. This disease once solved or partially will provide a gateway into other storage disorders and it's relation to Alzheimer's, atherosclerosis, HIV/Aids, and stroke.

Our goal is to do our part to help support research through fundraising, promote awareness, support other NPC families through existing channels, and expose how one disease can help solve many other diseases.

The Niemann-Pick Children's Fund, Inc is a 501(c)3 tax exempt, non profit – 80-0317862. NPCF website is www.NPCFund.org and is based in a suburb of Kansas City, MO. You can also visit Brisan & Parker's website at www.BriParDun.com.

We ask for your support and prayers. Together we can make it happen!
