The Basic URL to Pull YouTube Thumbnail Image
Where you see “VIDEO_ID” is where you'd put the unique block of characters that identifies that video. So if the link is http://youtu.be/6Gv9knBA4aA to your video then simply use 6Gv9knBA4aA for the “VIDEO_ID” part of the above URL.

Next you see the “#” in the URL and that represents one of the 3 thumbnails that YouTube auto produces for you when you upload a video. Drum roll please… you simply use “1,2,3” for that “#” symbol.
